The City of Chicago has a law regulating and taxing rentals that rent for less than 30 days. This law is being enforced. It is easy to tell if the property you are considering is legal; the city requires the license number to be printed in all online advertising.
Please be aware that many of the listings on VRBO, Homeaway and Airbnb are operating illegally. The City is very aggressive closing down illegal rentals and collecting back taxes that were never remitted, so be careful with your booking. You would hate to
arrive in Chicago only to find that your rental unit has been closed down.
All of our apartment and condo rentals are fully licensed with the City of Chicago. We pay all pertinent Hotel Accommodation Taxes to the City and State. If you are ever unsure if a rental unit is licensed, you can verify the information online at the City
of Chicago website at:

Simply search by address, license #, or business name by clicking on “Adding a New Filter Condition” on the right hand side. Properly licensed companies and rental units will be displayed with the license type “Regulated Business License”.
